Aranco is particularly active in six focus areas: public-private partnerships, cross-border cooperation, healthcare, education, business & labor market and government, or combinations thereof.
Our labor market-related projects in particular are often cross-border in nature. A good example is the Werkinzicht project, which aims to achieve a better match between the supply and demand of work in border regions. In the course of 2019, we also completed the coordination of a multi-year Interreg project aimed at the creation of a cross-border information structure at the Dutch-Flemish border. We are also active on the German-Dutch border in the field of cross-border labor mobility, with the project “Labor Market Platform Euregio Rhine-Waal”.
In the field of business & labor market, we wrote plans for various regions (South Limburg, North and Central Limburg and Eindhoven) in the context of the Strong Technology Education (STO) scheme. In addition, as in previous years, we have also developed a number of applications in the context of the ‘Regional Investment Fund (RIF) MBO’ scheme. These projects often took the form of public-private partnership constructions, in which, in addition to education and local authorities, the regional business community was also closely involved.
Healthcare is an important area of focus for Aranco. In addition to our independent initiative PH-Limburg (aimed at bringing public health initiatives in Limburg to the attention), we have, among other things, written a Limburg-wide regional vision for mbo-hbo care education, aimed at improving the connection between education and healthcare practice.
Below you will find more example projects that we have been working on in recent years

Tjeu van de Laar (director Technology & Logistics, Gilde Opleidingen):
“Aranco has made a substantial contribution to the realization of PPP Maak |, among others Smart Industry, Installation Technology Limburg (CIVIL), Built Environment Limburg, Foodlab Limburg and Healthcare Technology Limburg. Knowledge of the regional labor market, use of a triple helix network and skills in providing consistent and result-oriented advice and good cooperation with Gilde are characteristic of Aranco’s working method.”
Ellen Laeven-Vrencken (director of Citaverde College, location Roermond):
“Citaverde College stands for strengthening green education in Limburg. In 2018, we started the initiative to apply to the Regional Investment Fund MBO (RIF) on the basis of innovations, developments in the region and an expected relevant labor market issue in the equestrian sector. We had commitment from all parties, and yet it was not possible to get the application approved the first time. In a very short period of time of barely two months, we worked with Aranco (Arno Knoops) on further refinement, which ultimately resulted in a positive decision. Aranco leaves the expertise with the knowledge providers and understands the art of joining forces so that good results are achieved in a short time! Compliments!”
Jack van Boxmeer (director of InstallatieWerk Zuid-Oost):
“In our application for a RIF subsidy to set up a Center for Innovative Craftsmanship, we asked for the support of Aranco. Aranco has the expertise and expertise in-house to successfully manage the application. This enabled us to set up the CIVIL (Center for Innovative Craftsmanship Installation Technology Limburg) together with ROC Gilde Opleidingen. The collaboration went smoothly and smoothly. A lot of work has been taken off our hands. We had a goal in mind for setting up a CIV, but articulating this well in a successful application requires expertise in this area. We would not have been able to do this so quickly without the help of Aranco.”
Jeroen Cremers (Educational Leader ICT Lyceum VISTA College):
“We contacted Aranco to describe the complex RIF request Digiwise. Aranco has been of great added value in the translation of the spoken word and images about the future. Not only the description, but also the contemplative and critical note were important to arrive at the right focus. The knowledge and skills of both Mr. Knoops as Mr. Jongen has led to a comprehensive application. As program manager of the Digiwise trajectory, I am now reaping the benefits of the detailed plan that was devised in detail on request and worked out by Aranco. Due to the high degree of concreteness, we were able to connect a wide variety of partners despite corona. The assessment committee was also very satisfied with the clear structure and design of the corresponding budget. The great involvement and dedication was not limited by working hours. Both gentlemen were always ready to advise and assist.”
