Soon the core partners involved in the cross-border labour market will prepare a Letter of Intent in which their intentions will be summarized. Moreover, working groups will be formed in the fields of employment mediation, information provision and education that will develop concrete action lines based on a number of strategic objectives.
If there is a common and borderless labour market in the Euregio Rhine-Waal, that would be a big boost for the economy, said Hubert Bruls, Vice President of the Euregio Rhine-Waal and mayor of the city of Nijmegen. “The cross-border labour market could grow up to eight percent. That is why we must set ourselves the goal of making the border disappear and remove obstacles.” The cross-border labour market platform is responding to this by striving for structural and result-oriented cooperation between the parties involved in business, education and institutions in the field of employment mediation. All because of a shared interest across national borders, with one executive organization and with the aim of better labour mobility.
